Vintage 1970s Gabrielle Designs Paddington Bear with brown felt duffel coat, blue hat and yellow Dunlop wellies. The card tag is signed S Clarkson which is as he came to us. I cannot say for sure if this is the original designer's signature but, upon checking, I acquired the following information from AI: On the rare occasions the toy designer signed items (usually her book or special limited editions), her signature was a fluid, right-leaning cursive. The "S" in Shirley was typically large and rounded, while the "C" in Clarkson had a distinct, elongated top loop. Based on the image provided, that is an authentic handwritten signature by Shirley Clarkson Paddington has a label to the back seam and measures 19" tall.
